Our journey begins with the birth of binary - the simple yet revolutionary 1s and 0s that power all computing. The foundation was laid in 1679 when German mathematician Gottfried Leibniz formalized the binary number system, inspired by the ancient Chinese I Ching and its yin-yang duality. The real breakthrough came in 1937 when Claude Shannon (USA), in his groundbreaking MIT master's thesis, connected binary logic to electrical circuits. He proved that 1s and 0s could represent:

    This became the physical basis for all digital computing.

First Binary Computers:

  • 1941: Konrad Zuse (Germany) built the Z3 - the world's first working programmable, binary-based computer

Every website you visit today ultimately reduces to binary signals flashing through processors at nearly the speed of light - a perfect marriage of Leibniz's 17th century mathematics and modern engineering genius. From the first mechanical computers painstakingly programmed in pure binary, to today's AI writing its own code, this evolution represents one of humanity's greatest intellectual achievements.
